Certified Managerial Accountant

The certified managerial accountant program was started in 1972 by the Institute of Management Accountants (IMA). It was established with a view to train the students and make them specialized in management accounting. This degree would be equal to the degree of Certified Public Accountant (CPA).

Certified managerial accountant (examination details):
Interested candidates should go through a rigorous entrance procedure that will test a candidate's competency and knowledge of management accounting. The exams will enable a trainee to analyze and communicate relevant data and information. Since 1997, the exams have been computerized. It is based on a 100 % objective-based format. It has multiple-choice questionnaire, that'll basically put an individual's cognitive skills to test. Sylvan Tech Centers, USA conducts these exams throughout the world.

The exam consists of the following four sections:

* Decision analyzing and knowledge of Information system.
* Finance, Management and Economics.
* Analysis of management reports and issues of Behavioral psychology.
* Financial Accounting and presentation of reports; for individuals who have passed the US CPA entrances.

Candidates interested in the program should fulfill the following specifications:

* He should have attained a baccalaureate degree from a recognized institution.
* Is a CPA holder or has an equal certificate.

Besides the above mentioned qualifications, the candidate should also produce the following documents:

* The candidate is required to become a membership holder in the Institute of Management Accountants.
* Character certificates of his good conduct in earlier institutions.
