QuickBooks Online Banking - can't delete the Quickstatement?

A QuickBooks user may experience great difficulty in trying to delete the Online Banking Quickstatement. Intuit has yet to resolve this issue. The following tips and tricks should help the user of QuickBooks to delete the Quickstatement.

The first thing to do is to match all the transactions in the Quickstatement. After this, you need to go to the  Online Banking Center Page. The Quickstatement should be highlit in yellow. After this click the  delete button at the lower right hand corner of the screen. In case the quick statement is still there and is not deleted then you need to do some troubleshooting.

If the statement has not been deleted successfully, press the control and delete buttons or control-delete.  This trick should delete the Quickstatement.

Make sure you are using the latest version of the software. Go to file menu. Select update QuickBooks. This will work for the 2004 and 2005 versions. Follow the instructions. You can repeat the same process for the 2006 version also. In the 2006 version, the update QuickBooks option is available from the help menu.

Check the data using the verify data utility. This option path is file menu->utilities->verify data. It is  important to verify the data. The verify utility may find corruption in the data, due to which you cannot delete the Quickstatement. Rebuild the data using the rebuild data utility. Refer to QuickBooks help in case you are working on a network.  After you have rebuilt the data, try deleting the Quickstatement again.

If you have a recent backup, try restoring the backup. Just remember that any work which you have done after you have backed up, will be lost in case you restore the backup. Restoring backups in such a situation may not be the right thing to do. Only perform a restore in case you have tried other options.

If you have tried all of the above and nothing seems to work properly, then contact Intuit customer support. You can also contact your QuickBooks professional. It should be easy for a professional who is trained and experienced with QuickBooks to be able to fix up the problem.
