Ethics in accounting and financial decision making is the buzzword in today's business world. Many organizations put emphasis on ethics and the financial decision making process within the organizations. It is expected that all organizations will behave in an ethical manner in the current economy. There are many factors that inspire organizations to assure and impel ethical policies. Ethics in accounting and financial decision making provide the foundation on which a modern business system exists.

The general implication is that greed is an acceptable motivation and that business people will do anything to make money, including undertaking unethical behavior. In reality, greed is an unacceptable and unethical behavior that will nullify a firm's ability to make revenue. Although, the goal of any firm should be to augment its owners' wealth, to do so one needs to have public's trust. In the long run, that trust depends on ethical business practices that project income in the future.

Whether a person derives ethical values from history, religious principle, literature, or personal observation and experience, there are some basic ethical guidelines to which everyone can agree. The ten universal values to which a business management must adhere to are- honesty, integrity, fidelity, promise-keeping, caring, fairness, respect for others, responsible citizenship, pursuit of excellence, and accountability. A nation or a culture or a business set up cannot endure for long unless it is under girded by common values such as valor, respect for others and for the law and alike.

In conclusion, the organizations who have followed ethical dimensions or ethics in accounting and financial decision making process daily are in a stronger position in today's economy. These organizations will achieve a good reputation for being ethical and attract new customers, staff, as well as new investors. All these benefits will assist in the financial status of the organization and failure to do so will record poor financial performance. Organizations are turning to newer measurements that evaluate measured success factors which should supply an accurate indication of the performance.
